Pride and Prejudice: One-Act Plays Contest

In celebration of The Community Cooperative and Re-Casting the Movies virtual staged live reading of Kaela Mei-Shing Garvin’s adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice” , we’re holding our first-ever One-Act Plays Contest! In accordance with our production, the theme will be – you guessed it – PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

To participate, you must sign up in teams with at least TWO MEMBERS. One member of the team will register as TEAM LEADER, and they will be primarily in correspondence with the competition. The final play length can be up to 15 MINUTES long. 

The contest will start at 5:30 PM EST on THURSDAY, MARCH 10, 2022, and end at 5:30 PM EST on SATURDAY, MARCH 12, 2022. During this time, teams must write, rehearse, and film a one-act play using the REQUIRED ELEMENTS, which will be revealed at the competition start time. The JURY deliberation will end at 5:30 PM EST on MONDAY, MARCH 14, 2022. WINNERS will be announced at 7:30 PM EST on MONDAY, MARCH 14, 2022, National Write Your Story Day, in a virtual ceremony.

Entries can come from anywhere in the world. However, if the language used is not ENGLISH, please provide English-language subtitles for your video. All scripts and videos must have been created during the time specified for the competition. No preconceived materials may be used or submitted. Your one-act play video and all team documents must be submitted by the competition’s end time of 5:30 PM EST on SATURDAY, MARCH 12, 2022 for your entry to be considered.

So, in celebration of National Write Your Story Day (March 14th) and World Storytelling Day (March 20th), let’s get creating!
