About Coop

Your contribution to this world matters. Even if the creative, smart, proactive people are usually the anti-heros that just want to live a good life, we just can’t seem to stay away from community building. Reluctant leaders know that if we can’t find what we need, we simply make it ourselves. However, we need a community too.

How does this work?

The Community Cooperative creates opportunities for people to make genuine connections and find community. Coop holds an event a few times a year like talks, swaps, get-togethers, meetups, performances, and the Local Charm Community Expo to continuously build community networks in the Baltimore City and County area. However, subscribing to a theory of collective impact, most of our work is done in partnership and collaboration with community partners - not competition. So many of these events are done in partnership with other organizations, community-centered small businesses, or other community resources that share the same values. If you or your organization would like to partner with Coop, visit the partnership page for more information. You can see some of our other partnerships there as well. If you would like to support the Community Cooperative directly with a one-time, monthly, or yearly Patron subscription at a price point that works for you.

Our Community

Coop welcomes anyone who shares the values of community, authenticity, creativity, and connection.

We support each other’s interests, build community, serve the community, volunteer, and create long lasting genuine connections.

All who welcome are welcome.

Financial Transparency

The Community Cooperative is considered a “for-profit” L.L.C. We utilize funds generated by events, subscriptions, or programs to facilitate community growth, provide resources to Coop members, support Coop contractors, and prioritize community interests. Profits come after all of those priorities.

Consider supporting the Coop by becoming a Patron on the “Become a Patron” tab.

About Me.

I am a cultural anthropologist, mission-driven entrepreneur, and creator of The Community Cooperative, a community engagement consultancy that supports individuals, organizations, groups, and small businesses in designing community-centered programs, projects, and events.

My mission is to help create opportunities for genuine connection that go beyond the transactional interactions we encounter every day. The friendships and communities we build through shared experiences often feel the most meaningful because they give us space to explore new ideas, find common ground, and engage with others in authentic ways.

Through conversation, participation, and thoughtful experience design, I help turn ideas into opportunities for connection while supporting community, organizational, and business goals.

I am constantly learning and excited to continue growing alongside the communities I serve.
